Puri Jagannath Rath Yatra story in 200 Words

On the second day in the bright fortnight of the ashaad month, The piligrim town of "Puri" celebrates a festival that the world knows as the jaganaath Rath Yatra. It is the day the gods come out.   
The chariot festival pays homage to lorg Jagannath's  annual visit to gunducha temple through this aunt's home - s temple called "Mausi Maa Temple"      

The murtis of the three deities Jagannath and his sibilings "Balabhadra" and "Subdhadra" are brought out of the temple and onto the main to the main street of puri.

They get on richly decorated enormous wooden chariots. then the assembled devotees use their strenght to pull the chariots to the gundicha temple

There is even a ritual called "Chera Pahara" which nvoles the king of puri sweeping the floor before lord jagaanath. He sweeps all arounf the three chariots with a gold handled broom and sprinkles sandalwood water on the very first and last days of the yatra

After nine days at gundicha temple, jagannath and his brother and sister return to the main temple
On the way back, the middle of return journey known as bahuda jatra , The three chariots halt at the mausi maa temple once more and feast on the poda pitha

In this festival there are three chariot and these three are called nandigos for lord jaganadh and it is specially made for Lord Jagannath and the second one is called derpo davano which is for subdra and next to it you will find dava dwaja is for lord jagannath elder brother Bado badra.
All the three chariots are beautifully designed and decorated

The Lord Jagannath temple has lots of mysterious facts
the flag has philosophical significance  It blows in the opposite of the wind direction.
The temple is of 66 meter height. It is one of the oldest rath yatras which is called car festival which takes place in Puri, Odisha, India
You will also find the description in other oldest epic scriptures of India which are Brahma Purana, Padma Purana, and skandha Purana.
This annual festival is mostly celebrated in English month of June and in Odia calender, it is ashad month

The chariots of the Lord Jagannath is names as nandhigosh. the nandhigosh which is the chariots of Lord Jagannath has 16 wheels and total number of wooden pieces are like around 842 and the height of this nandigosh is 44 feet and 2 inches, Lenght, and breath are 34 feet and 6 inches and the chariot is wrapped with red and yellow color clothes and also it is guarded by the garuda and the name of the chariot is daruka

the next chariot which is called as deva davana or darpa davana which is in the middle the 3 chariot    which is for the sister subadra. it is decorated with black and yellow color cloths and the number of the wheel are used is 12 and the total number of wooden pieces are around 593 and also the length and breadth is 31 feet 6 inch and the height i 42 feet 3 inch and it is guarded by jai durga. Name of the chariot is Arjun. the flag is called nadambika

the third one which is beside the deva davana is called kala dwaja and in his chariot, you will find lord pola badra who is the elder brother of Lord Jagannath and this chariot has 14 wheels. the total number of wooden pieces are 763 roughly and you will find the red and green color cloth wrapped around it. it is guarded by pasudev and the name of the chariot is mathali and also the flag is called as unani

this car festival lasts for 9 days the chariot is moved in the first-day afternoon and reach the gundija temple and chariot remain there for 9 days. After 9 days they will come back to the sree mandir
